AAA I am a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds currently working on the Dynamic Assessment of Reading Test (DART) project with Dr Hannah Nash. I have completed interdisciplinary training in the areas of linguistics and psychology, and am interested in applying insights from these disciplines to educational contexts. My PhD thesis, supervised by Dr Silke Fricke and Dr Jenny Thomson, examined the language and literacy development of primary school children learning English as an Additional Language (EAL). This included an 18-month longitudinal cohort study and a 10-week vocabulary intervention. Prior to joining the School of Psychology at the University of Leeds, I worked as a test developer at NFER where I was involved primarily in writing test materials for Key Stage 1 and 2 national assessments of reading.
As of September 2019 I will lead the Language Development and Cognition satellite of the Language at Leeds network.
